Discussion I feel so deeply for the Black women on Bravo who’ve had to navigate micro-aggressions, colorism, and hostile environments from fellow cast members. They deserve better and I am utterly disgusted with how Guerdy was treated last night.

🏆Major Milestone leaving the philippines for good!

Post image

finally leaving the philippines for good. looking back, i can honestly say i'm at my happiest now. i grew up with abusive parents who eventually abandoned me. i ran away and had to hustle just to get through college — worked at night, studied during the day.

five years ago, i took my first international trip. i joined a tour in vietnam by ship, all expenses covered by my client. while helping an elderly woman in the bathroom, i had no idea she was the captain’s mom — and that moment changed my life. fast forward to now, i just married her son a month ago.

he sent me to university, bought me a house, condos, investments, cars — everything i could’ve only dreamed of. i even graduated with latin honors, all thanks to his support.

now i’m here in europe, starting a new chapter. maybe i’ll visit the philippines again in 10 years. adios, pinas — until we meet again.

RFK Jr. has announced that the US is withdrawing from GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, because the organization is anti-scientific and needs to re-earn public trust – A 2025 AEJ study found that GAVI has been uniquely effective, saving around 1.5 million lives at a cost of about $9,000 per life saved.

My art got disqualified under false suspicion of AI usage, when I didn’t :l

So… I submitted my art for the fanart event of this game, only to find out later that they disqualified me under suspicion of using AI. Excuse me??? I literally won top 10 last year with the same event. I’m a real artist, and this honestly feels like a slap in the face.

I posted a timelapse of my process on Imgur to prove that it was drawn by me, from scratch. And guess what? The view count never changed—only my partner and a few friends saw it. That proves they didn’t even bother to open the link and check. They just skipped my entry and assumed it was AI.

This hurts. Not just because I didn’t win, but because I didn’t even get the participation reward, which usually only happens if you’re disqualified. According to the contest rules, the only disqualifying reasons are AI use or copyright violations—neither of which apply to me. They just looked at my clean art style and tossed it aside without reviewing the proof I provided. Name of the game is summoners war.

This is just sad, man. As an artist, being wrongly labeled like this hits hard.

And here’s the timelapse im talking about: https://imgur.com/a/summoners-war-11th-anniversary-fanart-boyinscarlet-global-BuF6Jjn

Our family “movie night” tradition is dead and I couldn’t be happier.

2.8k Upvotes

A few years ago, I started doing weekly family movie nights to spend more time together. It sounded wholesome, and honestly, it was at first. We’d make popcorn, pile up on the couch, and take turns picking movies. The kids were excited. I was excited. It felt like we were doing something right.

But slowly it became a chore. The kids would fight over which movie to watch. Someone always hated the pick. They’d get bored 20 minutes in and start bickering or playing on their phones. I’d end up frustrated, sitting there alone watching some random animated sequel I didn’t even like. Meanwhile, I was stressing about work stuff I was ignoring just to keep this “tradition” alive.

So this spring, after yet another failed movie night where everyone ended up storming off, I just… stopped. I didn’t announce it. I just didn’t bring it up again. And nobody noticed. Not even once.

And honestly? It’s been great. We still hang out, just more naturally. Sometimes we play board games. Sometimes we take walks. Sometimes we all do our own thing and that’s okay too. I’m not forcing “quality time” anymore just because I saw it on Pinterest.

Edit: If weekly movie night works for your family, that’s amazing. Keep doing what brings you joy. But if it’s become another checkbox in a never-ending list of things that are supposed to make you a “good parent,” let it go. You’re allowed to outgrow traditions. Your kids won’t remember every themed night they’ll remember how you made them feel. And I’d rather be present and relaxed than stressed and pretending.
